Where to start?
⬇︎

✔ A project always starts with an initial contact ( Ideally I prefer by email ㋡ ), followed by a video call or meeting where the customer explains the project and its objectives, so that I can assess the scope for collaboration.

✔ Following this, we proceed to draw up the quotation, and once this has been signed, we set the design machine in motion. See below two examples of how I run a design project:

✶
What is the typical UX/UI project workflow like?

This is just a basic plan for a product redesign. If you’re interested in another type of project, such as creating a digital product from scratch, or another type of support, contact me and I’ll be happy to explain all the phases involved.

1.Kick Off & audit

The Kick-Off phase sets the foundation for a successful product design project. It’s a critical alignment moment where stakeholders, goals, and expectations are brought together. Clear project brief, a roadmap that will guide the next stages.

The Audit is an evaluation of a digital product to identify usability issues and areas for improvement.

2.Concept

The Concept Phase is where the visual direction and core design principles of the product take shape. This phase focuses on exploring and defining the creative vision that will guide the entire UI. By the end of this phase, the team has a clearly validated visual direction — the north star that informs the design system, UI components, and interaction patterns in the next stages of the project.

3.1 Design sprints

Here is where ideas move into action. With the visual direction defined, this phase focuses on iterative design, prototyping, and validation — translating user stories, strategy and concept into real, testable product experiences. Designing low- to high-fidelity screens in Figma, focusing on usability, structure, and interaction based on user goals and technical feasibility.

3.2 Design system

In parallel, we gradually build or refining the design system components as they are used in real screens, ensuring consistency and scalability. A cohesive, scalable, and reusable set of design components that support consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the product ecosystem. The result is a robust, living design system that empowers teams to move faster and scale the product.

4.Testing

The Testing & Iterations Phase is where real user feedback meets design — a critical step to ensure the product is not just beautiful, but also usable, intuitive, and effective. This phase is all about validating design decisions, identifying friction points, and refining the experience based on evidence. This phase is often cyclical and ongoing, allowing the team to continuously improve and adapt the product based on evolving user needs and performance metrics.

✶
And for a Rebranding project e.g.?

1.Discovery

In the Discovery phase we gather insights about the business, audience, competitors, and goals.

2.Exploration

Here we will clarify brand positioning, values, tone of voice and overall direction to guide all creative decisions.
We will then create moodboards and initial visual concepts to explore possible directions and align with a creative vision.

3. Design Development

Here come the big work: design or update the logo, color palette, typography, and other core brand elements based on the approved concept. Explore other formats in which the brand can be applied to give it more strength.

3. Delivery

Refine designs, create brand guidelines, and deliver all assets ready for use across digital and print channels.
